The Miami Project
January 31, 2009 on 6:53 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsThis place gives me hope. The founder (Dr Barth Green) was my Dr in Miami. A very inspirational Dr and one of the nicest persons I have ever know. Check out their website www.themiamiproject.org . They are at the forefront of spinal cord injury research and finding a cure for paralysis.

Back
January 30, 2009 on 5:43 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsI really had a hard time updating the website as I had to ask someone to type for me. I have now been lent (a demo for a short trial ) something called a mouth mouse, which is just what it sounds like - a mouse you control with your mouth even though it is still very slow. So I will be posting a lot more. Sorry for being absent for so long.

Oh by the way did I mention how glad I am that Bush is gone.
Change
January 29, 2009 on 8:10 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsShould I be politically correct and not say I am so glad George Bush is gone and never coming back! God forbid anymore demon spawn “Bush’s” ever hold office or are in charge of anything more than a water snail. Obama is not even in charge for more than week and half and things are already getting better. I am sure a cure is coming if he stays in office.
A New Year

Alex will walk again…
September 13, 2008 on 1:58 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsI met Alex and his family while I was in the hospital in Miami. Alex was injured at the C5/C6 level from a swimming accident, about a month before my accident. He and his family were a great source of support and strength for us in the hospital and still are today, as we share parallel experiences through this journey of life after a spinal cord injury. Alex lives in the UK, close to London, and is also fundraising to attend a program similar to Project Walk, that exists in the UK. Please feel welcome to visit his website and support Alex in his fundraising.

Wheels to Walk….amazing!
July 1, 2008 on 2:13 pm | In Research | No Comments“Four determined men are wheeling across Canada on hand cycles on an incredible journey. They strongly believe that breakthrough Canadian research will enable them to walk again, making their grueling trek a Mission Possible. This research will also have far reaching implications for conditions such as: Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, diabetes, stroke, concussive head injury, and major wounds.”
